Description

The British government took the decision not to extradite Roísín McAliskey to Germany due to medical reasons. McAlinskey had been arrested while five months pregnant relating to a charge of an IRA mortar attack on the British Army Osnabruck barracks in Germany on the 28th of June 1996. McAliskey was five months pregnant at the time of her arrest. There had been a strong campaign to secure her release in Britain, Ireland, Europe and the USA.
