A Catholic civilian and well-known member of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), Sean Brown (61), was abducted by the LVF. The next day, his body was found next to his burnt-out car in Randalstown, County Antrim. On the 19th of January 2004, a report released by the Police Ombudsman for Northern Ireland was highly critical of the police investigation surrounding Brown's killing.
