Daily Advertiser (New York)
Details
Founded in 1785, the Daily Advertiser was the first daily produced in New York and the third in the country. Based on the record, the Daily Advertiser's editor, Francis Childs, appears to be the earliest documenter of the First Congress. The Daily Advertiser was a Federalist publication. House Clerk John Beckley would eventually go on to contract with Childs to print various documents for the House of Representatives.
