The Civil Rights Act of 1875

(March 22, 1815 — May 7, 1893) Alexander Wilson Taylor was an American politician and lawyer. Taylor was born in Indiana, Pennsylvania in 1815. He attended Jefferson College and graduated from the law school at Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Taylor was admitted to the bar in 1841 and practiced law in Indiana, Pa. He served in the State House of Representatives (1859, 1860) before being elected as a Republican to the United States House of Representatives in 1872. Taylor served in Congress from March 4, 1873 to March 3, 1875. After which he continued to practice law until he died in 1893.
