William J. Hynes

The Civil Rights Act of 1875

(March 31, 1843 — April 2, 1915) Hynes was a lawyer, printer, and politician. William Hynes was born in Ireland and immigrated to the United States in 1854, where he settled in New York and Massachusetts. After studying law, he moved to Little Rock, Arkansas in 1870. He was elected as a Liberal Republican to the Forty-Third Congress from March 4, 1873 to March 3, 1875. He served only one term as a Representative in the United States House of Representatives.
