[First Report of the Committee on Postponed Matters as Amended by the Convention]

That in lieu of the 9th section of the 6th article the following be inserted

Article VI.

Sect. 9. The Members of each House shall be ineligible to any civil Office under the authority of the United States [+e674459]created, or the emoluments whereof shall have been encreased [+e674463]during the time for which they shall respectively be elected[+e674459] — and no person holding any office under the United States shall be a Member of either House during his continuance in Office.[+e674467]
