DRAFT REPORT OF BUSINESS COMMITTEE TO PLENARY REGARDING CONSIDERATION OF AGENDA ITEM 6

The Business Committee recommends to Plenary that it:

(a) constitute a committee to consider and report on issues arising under Agenda Item 6 in order to facilitate Plenary in its consideration of the common desire of the people of the Island of Ireland for a new relationship, of the obstacles in the path of satisfying that desire and of the ways in which those obstacles might be overcome;

(b) invite each delegation immediately to nominate 4 delegates to the committee with authority to speak on behalf of their delegations;

(c) instruct the committee

(i) to consider Agenda Item 6 in the light of the papers prepared on that item and any other relevant papers tabled or statements made in the course of the talks

(ii) to report progress to a Plenary meeting to be held on the afternoon of Wednesday, 9 September.
