The Convention considers the Committee of the Whole report on Substitute Propositions Number 107, 140, 103, and Substitute Section 7 of Substitute Proposition Number 33 and agrees with the Committee recommendation to pass the propositions as amended. The Substitute Propositions are referred to the Committee on Style for engrossment.

No. 34.

Introduced by Mr. Short of Yuma County.

A Proposition to Establish a Railroad Commission.

It is hereby proposed:

1. The authority to regulate public service corporations within the State shall be vested in a corporation commission consisting of three members who shall hold office for the term of six years; provided, that at the first general election, one member shall be elected for six years, one member for four years, and one member for three years. The longer term being determined by the highest number of votes cast.

2. The duty of the corporation commission shall be provided by general law at the first session of the Legislature.
