Alliance Party position - as a matter of principle, any issue about timing or venue should not stand in the way of the talks.

Alliance Analysis of Unionist Position - The Unionists were concerned that if a compromise could not be found the talks would break down. Alliance reported that the Unionists' main concern appeared to be that meeting in Northern Ireland would be a concession to the SDLP.
