Rev. Dr. Thomas Bowman is elected Senate chaplain; S. Res. 25 is reported by the Committee on the Judiciary, who ask to be discharged from its consideration; S. 169 is reported favorably by the Committee on Territories, and the Senate agree to consider it in Committee of the Whole.
In pursuance of the order made on Monday last the Senate proceeded to the election of a Chaplain, with the following result:
Rev. Thos. Bowman, D. D., received 24 votes.
Rev. E. H. Gray received 15 votes.
